Housatonic Habitat For Humanity

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry.  We seek to eliminate poverty housing from the greater Danbury area and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.  In view of that vision, we mobilize the local community to provide responsible home ownership opportunities to low income families

Our parent organization, Habitat for Humanity International, was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller, along with his wife, Linda.  Today, Habitat for Humanity has built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing safe, decent, affordable shelter for more than 1.5 million people in over 90 countries.  A Habitat home is completed somewhere in the world every 21 minutes.
